About Me
My Tools

My name is Joseph Grubbs-Hardy, in case you've missed it at the bottom of every page, and I'm 17 years old. I have always been interested in art, ever since I could pick up a crayon and scribble on a piece of paper, I would. I have also always been interested in computers, and as my dad was (and still is) a computer programmer, I got a lot of exposure to them. I first combined these two interests by making little pink "worms" in MS Paint when I was around 4 or 5, and I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to top that ever since. My computer art took a huge leap around 7 years ago when I first got CorelDraw 5 and Photo-Paint, though I didn't even touch Draw until I got version 9 four years later. As soon as I started playing around with Photo-Paint I knew that's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Although it wasn't until I started playing around with Draw 9, and getting into graphic design, that I thought I might be able to. There was a two year period where I wanted to do graphic design for a living, that being from when I first discovered it through CorelDraw through the NC State university Design Camp in 2001. In some respects I still do want to be a graphic designer, but now I'm focusing more on industrial design because I think that would make a better profession for me. I am now planning to go to NC State, Rhode Island School of Design, or Pratt with a major in Industrial Design. Well that's a brief history of my interest in computer art, I hope I didn't bore you too much.
